The construction of the new Omsk-Fedorovka airport has risen to 64.6 billion rubles. Funding is carried out by both the state and private investors through the "Project Finance Factory" mechanism.
The concessionaire of the project is "Airports of Regions", VEB.RF allocates 4 billion rubles. The airport began construction more than 40 years ago, then the project was frozen, but now it is planned to be completed.
The design of the complex was chosen in 2024 by the architectural bureau "Khvoya". The terminal is designed to receive wide-body aircraft, including the A380, and features a modern architectural appearance.
According to forecasts, by 2048 the airport will be able to serve more than 4.5 million passengers per year - 3.6 million on domestic flights and almost 1 million on international flights. For comparison, the entire Russian Superjet development program cost 44 billion rubles, and the bridges in Vladivostok cost 50 billion rubles.
The projected passenger traffic by 2048 is more than 4.5 million people per year: 3.6 million on domestic flights and almost 1 million on international flights. For comparison, the current flow of Omsk is about 1.7 million people per year. Experts doubt that such forecasts are realistic.
The airport is located far from the center of Omsk, which raises questions about transport accessibility for passengers. Experts also note that the success of the facility will depend on the development of infrastructure and transport logistics in the region.
