The Sochi Transport Department announced the launch of a sea service on the high-speed vessel "Comet" between Sochi and Sukhum. This was reported by the press service of the Sochi Department of Transport and Road Facilities.
From August 30, a regular sea service will be launched on the high-speed "Comet" on the Sochi - Sukhum - Sochi route. From next week, flights will be operated on weekends weekly.
Departure of the "Comet" from Sochi is scheduled for 10:30. Passengers are advised to arrive at the pier by 08:30 to go through border and customs formalities. The ship departs back from Sukhum at 16:30, and disembarkation in Sochi is scheduled for 19:00.
Tickets for the Saturday flight are already available for purchase on the official website ticket.kometasochi.ru. However, when buying tickets, there is still confusion with the final cost.
We decided to clarify the cost of tickets at the box office by phone +7-913-286‑36‑37, we were quoted the amount of 1500 ₽ per ticket one way. Later they called back and already named the amount of 1200 ₽ there and 2200 ₽ round trip. At the same time, they offered to pay for tickets by transfer to a card or in person at the box office. When asked why tickets on the site are 500 ₽ cheaper, they stated that the site is "raw", but "you can buy there for 1000 ₽".
The ship's capacity is 120 seats, and the journey time is about two hours. Flights will be operated every week on weekends. Navigation will last until October 1.
The first test flight from Sochi to Sukhum on the high-speed vessel "Cosmonaut Pavel Popovich" type "Cometa120M" took place on August 6. The vessel also regularly operates flights in the Azov-Black Sea basin between Novorossiysk, Gelendzhik and Sochi during the navigation season.
