Welding of the first train for the high-speed railway (HSR) Moscow–St. Petersburg will begin in September 2025, according to Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin.
The project is being implemented exclusively with Russian technologies, including infrastructure construction and train production.
These are construction technologies, the technologies of the train itself. Moreover, by the way, welding of the first train will begin in September. About 150 enterprises are working in cooperation there. This is an extremely interesting project and a truly national one.
The «Beliy Krechet» train will reach speeds of up to 400 km/h, reducing travel time between Moscow and St. Petersburg to 2 hours and 15 minutes. The trains are being produced at the «Ural Locomotives» plant in the Sverdlovsk Region, and the first trains will begin operating in 2028.
Earlier www1.ru reported that testing of the Russian high-speed train has begun.
