Bench tests of prototypes of key components of the high-speed Russian train have already begun. This was announced by the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Roman Starovoit.
The development and production of rolling stock, as well as components based on domestic industrial enterprises, is also important. Relevant bench tests of prototypes have already begun for a number of key components.
The Minister noted that Ural Locomotives JSC (STM plant) will complete the construction of production for HSR trains by the end of 2026. The first two Russian high-speed trains will be handed over for certification in the summer of 2027.
High-speed is considered a specialized electrified double-track railway line for the operation of trains with speeds from 200 to 400 km/h. Currently, there are no such roads in Russia, and the HSR between Moscow and St. Petersburg will become a pilot project. Construction of the main section of the highway is scheduled to begin in mid-2025. The complete completion of the project is scheduled for April 1, 2028, the travel time between cities will be reduced to 2 hours 15 minutes.
Earlier www1.ru reported that 43 trains were ordered for the Moscow — St. Petersburg HSR.
