The vessel made its debut passenger voyage on August 21, 2025. Later, a second identical catamaran, "Selenga", will be launched. Each of them will be able to carry up to 148 passengers. The twin catamarans are named after the Baikal winds and can reach speeds of up to 65 km/h.

These vessels were developed specifically for Lake Baikal: the wave-piercing hull type, shallow draft, and the peculiarity of the hydrofoil device allow for safe boarding and disembarkation of passengers even on an undeveloped shore — thereby significantly expanding the geography of passenger transportation on Lake Baikal. The development was carried out in Yaroslavl, the catamarans began to be assembled in Nizhny Novgorod, and were completed in Irkutsk, at the shipyard of the "East Siberian River Shipping Company".

Technical characteristics of the vessel:

  • overall length — 38 m
  • overall width — 10 m
  • board height at midship — 3.3 m
  • design draft — 1.25 m
  • main engine power — 2x1400 kW
  • operational speed — about 65 km/h
  • crew — 4 people
  • range — 1000 km
  • passenger capacity — 148 people
