The "Arkhangelsk REB of the Fleet" successfully lifted the icebreaker "Avraamiy Zavenyagin" of Project 1191 onto the slipway, which in February 2025 will join the fleet of the Murmansk branch of FSUE Rosmorport.
The operation to lift the icebreaker onto the slipway (a structure consisting of an inclined plane and a horizontal platform with slipway berths) was unique and unprecedented. To carry it out, a group of divers was formed, and a project was developed to lift a vessel weighing over 2000 tons.
Previously, FSUE Rosmorport carried out repairs of its fleet in floating docks, and maintenance on the slipway was not possible. However, the specialists managed to convince the customer that the enterprise has the necessary competencies to carry out repairs of the Project 1191 icebreaker on land.
The Project 1191 icebreaker was built in 1984. It is equipped with three engines with a capacity of 1,605 kW each. "Avraamiy Zavenyagin" is capable ofovercoming ice up to 1 meter thick in Arctic waters.
JSC "Arkhangelsk REB of the Fleet" is a multidisciplinary and one of the oldest enterprises in the Arkhangelsk region. It is capable of carrying out deep modernization of vessels with the replacement of engines and class upgrades, converting the fleet, as well as building tugs and barges of various types and purposes.
