In August, AvtoVAZ invested over 347 million rubles in a large-scale modernization and technical re-equipment of its plants in Togliatti and Izhevsk. These investments are aimed at addressing key tasks: increasing productivity, reducing costs, and preparing for the launch of new models, including LADA Azimut.
Work was carried out in all areas. Instead of manual welding of the body floor for the new LADA Iskra, a robotic complex is now in operation. In the painting shops, old robots have been replaced with modern models. Key attention was paid to preparing for the production of the new LADA Azimut urban crossover: 23 new robots were installed on the lines, and the conveyor was adapted to install options such as a panoramic roof. In addition, active preparations were underway to launch a new 1.8-liter engine for the NIVA family.
Automation of the loading of body sides on the LADA Granta line will allow the company to save up to 6 million rubles annually. Already, the level of robotization of welding operations for this model exceeds 85%. In total, more than 10,800 individual operations were performed during the summer corporate vacation, demonstrating the scale of the modernization.
Previously, many operations, especially in labor-intensive welding and painting shops, were performed on old equipment, which could lead to fluctuations in quality.
