At the Irkutsk Aviation Plant (IAZ, part of Rostec), they don't waste precious time talking about problems, but propose and implement concrete actions to eliminate them, according to the local branch of the Russian Engineering Union.
In particular, in the IAZ blanking and stamping shop, employees made a compact wall-mounted holder for abrasive wheels from a piece of simple pipe, thereby solving the problem of their storage. Until that moment, the circles lay in a heap on the workbench, interfering with work and making it difficult to find the right one.
Also, in the mechanical processing shop for processing parts from aluminum alloys, the polyamide stops on the VUD-2500 vibration machine clamps quickly failed, preventing more than one part from being fixed in one processing.
The solution was to replace the old clamps with new, larger ones, with metal stops allowing more parts to be secured. It is expected to increase the productivity of the vibration machine by 25%.
The Irkutsk Aviation Plant builds Su-30SM2 fighters, MC-21 passenger aircraft and Yak-130 light attack aircraft.
