The fifth block of the floating dock of project 28140С, built by the Ship Repair and Shipbuilding Corporation (SSK) in Gorodets, Nizhny Novgorod Region, has successfully passed the inspection of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS). Technical supervision of the construction was carried out by the Nizhny Novgorod branch of RS. The block was launched on August 15, 2025.
During the inspection of block No. 5, carried out afloat in the SSK water area, the Register's specialists successfully checked its technical condition. It was established that the block is ready for a one-time transfer to Arkhangelsk, where the construction of dock 28140С will continue. The Register confirmed its readiness for the transfer, stipulating that the requirements specified in the RS documents must be met.
Russian equipment is used in the creation of the 28140С dock project. The Odyss software package, developed by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, was used for structural calculations.
Characteristics of project 28140С: lifting capacity — 5 thousand tons, 4 cranes, length — 158 m, width — 36.8 m, height of бортом — 13.3 m.
