Rostselmash continues to work on creating automatic transmissions (AT) for tractors. The company is implementing two main projects in this direction, the manufacturer's press service reported.
The development of transmission production is inextricably linked with the company's strategic goal of technological independence from Western components. Mastering automatic transmissions for us is no longer just a project, it is our near future.
When designing the automatic transmission, the PowerShift type was chosen. It is characterized by high performance and comfort for the machine operator. This allows for optimal realization of the tractor's traction potential. This transmission has a low production cost compared to analogues.
Currently, the automatic transmission project for tractors of the 3000 series is at the assembly and testing stage. The next stage is track and field tests for reliability and functionality. They will be held in the fall.
The second direction is the creation of an automatic transmission for classic tractors of the 1000 series with a capacity of 270–370 hp. The first sample of the PowerShift type automatic transmission has already been assembled. Designers of the scientific and technical center have been working on the project since 2021, setting themselves the task of creating a localized product that does not depend on Western components.
The developed automatic transmission of a classic tractor can operate in both automatic and manual modes, has 16 forward and 9 reverse speeds, as well as power take-off for hydraulics. In the future, it is planned to install a creeper on the rear axle, which will be in demand when the tractor is moving at ultra-low speeds from 0.3 to 2.5 km/h.
The design of the automatic transmission provides for its assembly with the rear axle into a single monoblock, which acts as an element of the agricultural machine's supporting system. A common oil bath provides simultaneous lubrication of both units without additional hydraulic motors and pumps. The automatic transmission has passed bench tests, and the system software is being configured.
Two more prototypes are being prepared for assembly in the experimental workshop, which will undergo resource and functional tests in the fall of this year. The company plans to release a pilot batch of gearboxes at the transmission plant, which has already been prepared and equipped with the necessary equipment.
