Second batch of Russian Su-30SM2 arrives in Belarus

Multipurpose fighter received new avionics and navigation equipment

Another batch of Russian two-seat Su-30SM2 multirole fighters of the 4++ generation has arrived at a military airfield in Belarus, the press service of the republic's Ministry of Defense reported.

Andrei Rachkov, First Deputy Head of Aviation of the Aviation Department of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces, explained that the aircraft were received as part of military-technical cooperation with Russia.

Su-30SM2 is a modernized aircraft. The target detection range has been increased almost threefold. It received new avionics, navigation equipment, including in autonomous mode. It will be possible to fly without any problems without satellite navigation.

According to him, the range of application of aviation weapons has been expanded for the Su-30SM2: guided and unguided missiles, bombs with UMPC. Belarus received the first batch of such fighters in early 2025, Rachkov added.
