The updated remote control (RC) of the anti-tank missile system (ATGM) "Fagot" is being tested in combat conditions. Employees of PJSC "Kirov plant "Mayak" (part of the Kalashnikov concern) showed operators how the RC works, and also explained the features of its operation.
The combat crew will test the "Fagot" in open and wooded areas, in an urban environment. After that, the military personnel will be able to make an official review of the effectiveness of the complex.
"The peculiarity and advantage of remote control is that it is easy to use, unpretentious and can be quickly repaired even in the field.
With the help of RC, it is possible to remotely control 3 "Fagot" launchers in turn. The complex allows to detect, recognize, and track targets. It is designed to destroy armored vehicles, enemy firing points, and low-flying helicopters. At the same time, the operator is at a distance of up to 100 m from the ATGM itself.
The designers began developing the RC for the "Fagot" in 2023. By the autumn of the following year, it was tested at the training ground. Specialists promptly eliminated all the comments received during the test launches.
