Accounts Chamber Reveals 15 Abandoned Airport Infrastructure Facilities in Russia

The list includes projects in Moscow, Syktyvkar, Omsk, and Naryan-Mar

Auditors of the Accounts Chamber have identified 15 abandoned airport infrastructure facilities in Russia.

Among them are the first phase of the reconstruction of Sheremetyevo Airport, work on runway No. 1, taxiways, and parking areas in Domodedovo, as well as the construction of Sokolovka Airport in Syktyvkar, which was previously abandoned.

The list also includes the long-term construction project "Omsk-Fedorovka," which is planned to be put into operation in 2028 as part of the "Airports of Regions" holding.

In addition, there is the reconstruction of the airfield in Naryan-Mar. It was previously postponed to 2025, but on the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation, the work should take place in 2027–2030.
