Cutter suction dredger "Lotos-4" starts sea trials on the Volga River

The productivity of the vessel of project 93.159.1 is 900 cubic meters of soil per hour

The self-propelled cutter suction dredger "Lotos-4" (project 93.159.1) has started sea trials from the "Lotos" production site of the Southern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center. The auxiliary fleet vessel is being tested on the Volga River in the city of Narimanov, Astrakhan Region, the United Shipbuilding Corporation press service reported.

The plant workers will check the operation of the main and auxiliary engines, maneuvering, running and speed characteristics of the dredging vessel, as well as life support systems and the navigation complex.

For the first time in Russia, this type of dredger uses a submersible pump driven by a diesel engine through a rotary gearbox, which increases the efficiency and safety of technological equipment.

"Lotos-4" is suitable for deepening silty bottoms and boggy soil. It also works with sand of various grain sizes and gravel.

  • Hull length — 50 m
  • Width — 11.88 m
  • Board height — 2.97 m
  • Average draft — 1.3 m
  • Extraction depth — 10 m (maximum), 2 m (minimum)
  • Productivity — 900 m³/hour.
