No "Blind" Spots: Strategic Radar Stations "Voronezh" on Combat Duty

New generation radar stations will warn of a missile attack

New generation radar stations (RLS) of the "Voronezh" type have taken up combat duty in the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia, said First Lieutenant General, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces Alexander Maksimtsev.

According to him, the Voronezh radar stations provide a continuous peripheral field of the missile attack warning system. The systems were created using high factory readiness technology.

This provides a continuous peripheral radar field of the missile attack warning system in all strategic aerospace directions for all types of ballistic missile flight paths.

It is known from open sources that the Voronezh radar station is capable of detecting and tracking ballistic missiles and aircraft at a distance of more than 6 thousand kilometers.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the latest R-77M missiles with a range of 190 km have entered service with Su-35S fighters.
