Russian specialists within the "Posokh" project tested a new optical laser scheme of domestic design for the destruction of drones, reported the developer company LazerBuzz.
During the tests, they managed to burn through 10-mm thick steel at a distance of 100 m.
In the video, a directed beam hit steel 10 mm thick at a distance of 100 m.
The "Posokh" project is powered by portable batteries, it can be installed on any armored vehicle. The target engagement range is about 1.5-2 km, at such a distance it is almost impossible to hit a drone with small arms.
The laser focuses on key components or the UAV body. The high temperature disables drones in fractions of a second - their motor fails, wires melt, and the internal components burn out.
