Russia's largest PVC producer, JSC "Sayanskkhimplast," has suspended production to carry out repairs on its production facilities, according to Irkutsk Oblast Governor Igor Kobzev.
The plant's downtime is planned and will be completed in the second half of August. At the same time, the shipment of finished products to customers continues as usual.
In May 2025, JSC "Sayanskkhimplast" was transferred to state ownership following a lawsuit by the Prosecutor General's Office. The Khamovniki Court of Moscow ruled to return the plant, with former Chairman of the Irkutsk Oblast Legislative Assembly Viktor Kruglov, his family members, former General Director of JSC "Sayanskkhimplast" Nikolai Melnik, and two legal entities as defendants in the case.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the former General Motors plant will be restarted in Russia.
