From July 26, 2025, updated traffic rules regarding the passage of special vehicles came into effect in Russia. Now, drivers are required not only to "give way" but also to move to the adjacent lane or pull over to the side of the road to ensure the unimpeded passage of vehicles with flashing lights and sirens.
For the first time, a ban has been introduced on moving next to a special vehicle at the same speed, as well as on overtaking such cars. Also, now you need to give way to cars without color graphic schemes, used to transport high-ranking officials, as well as cars in a convoy, if it is headed by special transport with signals.
Fines have not yet changed — up to 7.5 thousand rubles, but amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses have already been approved, which will increase the penalty to 10 thousand rubles or deprivation of rights. It is important that the new rules do not yet specify whether it is possible to violate other traffic rules (for example, drive on the side of the road or cross a solid line).
