On July 26, 2025, updated traffic rules regarding the passage of special vehicles came into effect in Russia. Now, drivers are required not just to "give way", but to move into the adjacent lane or pull over to the side of the road to ensure the unimpeded passage of vehicles with flashing lights and a siren.
For the first time, a ban has been introduced on driving next to a special vehicle at the same speed, as well as on overtaking such cars. Also, now you need to give way to cars without color graphic schemes used to transport high-ranking officials, as well as cars in a convoy, if it is headed by a special vehicle with signals.
Fines have not yet changed - up to 7.5 thousand rubles, but amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses have already been approved, which will increase the penalty to 10 thousand rubles or deprivation of rights. It is important that the new rules do not yet specify whether it is possible to violate other traffic rules (for example, drive on the side of the road or cross a solid line).
