Первая страховая выплата в цифровых рублях прошла в России

The test payment was conducted by VTB, the SOGAZ insurance group, and the Moscow Metro

The first insurance payment in digital rubles has taken place in Russia, conducted by VTB, the SOGAZ insurance group, and the Moscow Metro. The test was not related to a real insurance event. It was carried out as part of an experiment on a smart contract for the unmanned "Lion Cub-Moscow" tram.

VTB noted that the testing confirmed the operability of automatic calculations using the digital ruble on the Bank of Russia platform. The main advantage of the smart contract is that the damage can be calculated and paid within one day.

In the future, if an insured event occurs, the Moscow Metro will be able to apply for compensation through the VTB remote banking system. Based on the smart contract data, the system will automatically calculate the amount of compensation. After the insurer confirms the application, digital rubles will be instantly transferred from SOGAZ's wallet to the Moscow Metro's wallet.

As a reminder, the smart contract for insuring the unmanned tram was concluded in February 2025. The tram is already running on route No. 10 in the Strogino district and is insured along with its high-tech equipment.
