Yandex co-owner Alexander Chachava has become a shareholder in Ozon, buying 27.7% of the shares from the Vostok Investments fund for 38.2 billion rubles. Now Chachava owns a significant stake in one of the largest Russian marketplaces.
The top manager described his purchase as a "high-quality portfolio investment." He is confident in the future of Ozon.
Ozon reported that Chachava's structure had fully bought out the stake from the previous shareholder, the Vostok Investments investment holding. The company's management will remain the same.
AFK Sistema continues to be the largest shareholder of Ozon, owning 31.8% of the shares. All key decisions will be made by the board of directors, consisting of nine members, which ensures management stability.
Chachava and AFK Sistema have the right to appoint three directors each to the board, and the remaining seats are held by independent and non-executive directors. This ensures that strategic decisions are made taking into account the opinions of various shareholders.
