From September 29, 2025, to March 28, 2026, AvtoVAZ is introducing a four-day work week for employees of the main production lines. The corresponding order No. 283 has already been signed. Lada Granta will be produced in two shifts, and Vesta and Niva in one shift four days a week. Salaries will be reduced in proportion to the time worked.
The decision to switch to a reduced work week is due to a sharp drop in demand in the Russian car market. According to industry statistics, sales of new cars have decreased by 27% over the past year.
The main factor was increased competition from Chinese car manufacturers, which offer models comparable in class to Lada Vesta and Aura. This creates serious price pressure on the domestic manufacturer.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the company's management was considering reducing the working week.
