РНПК добавила киберинциденты в имущественное перестрахование

Russian companies will be able to protect equipment and profits from hacker attacks

The Russian National Reinsurance Company (RNPC), a subsidiary of the Central Bank, has added risks associated with cyber incidents to property reinsurance — now companies can protect themselves from losses due to equipment failure and production interruptions after hacker attacks. This innovation was a response to a sharp increase in the number of attacks on Russian businesses in 2024–2025.

Previously, such risks were not included in standard insurance contracts. According to RED Security, the number of attacks in 2024 increased by 2.5 times — to 130 thousand cases. Some of them led to losses of hundreds of millions of rubles: for example, for the logistics company SDEK and the retailer Vinlab.

One of the main risks during cyberattacks is equipment failure. The subsequent interruption in production can result in huge profit losses

Insurers are already showing interest. According to Zetta Insurance, up to 30% of corporate clients may connect to the new coverage, especially in the energy, machine-building and logistics sectors.
