Cyberattack Pandemic: Experts Say All Companies Have Been at Risk Since 2022

Positive Technologies Reports a Sharp Increase in Cybersecurity Incidents

All Russian companies have faced cyberattacks since 2022. This was stated by Alexey Novikov, Managing Director of Positive Technologies, at the XIII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

According to him, there are no companies in Russia that have not been subjected to computer attacks. Statistics show that the number of such incidents increases by 70-75% every year.

Novikov compared the situation to a "pandemic" of cyberattacks. Thus, an attack on one company can trigger a chain reaction affecting many other organizations.

And we unravel these [hacking] chains for a very long time.
Alexey Novikov

The expert suggested introducing mandatory reporting of cyber incidents, as was done during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to his data, about 70% of companies rarely report incidents to law enforcement agencies.
