With NFC, you can exchange data between phones at a distance of up to 10 cm. This makes fraud possible in public places such as the subway.
In practice, such schemes are quite difficult to implement. For fraudsters to be able to steal money, several conditions must coincide. According to Ilya Nazarov, CEO of Digital Markets, these include: NFC enabled, unlocked screen, no need to confirm payment, and a card that supports transactions without entering a PIN code.
To minimize the risk of theft, the expert advises following simple recommendations: turn off NFC when it is not needed, use screen lock. In addition, you should only install applications from trusted sources.
By following these rules, you will significantly reduce the likelihood of losing money.
