JSC "Kama" — the developer of the startup "Atom" — has been included in the new package of sanctions of the European Union. The restrictions include a ban on any transactions with sanctioned companies.
The reason was the alleged participation of "Kama" in connections with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). At the same time, European companies are not participating in the project, but sanctions may complicate cooperation with companies from other countries, including those "friendly" to Russia.
The founders of "Kama" are KAMAZ and its CEO Sergey Kogogin, the company "Renera" ("Rosatom"), RDIF and the Chinese XY Group.
Why this is important: sanctions can slow down the development of innovative projects and limit international cooperation, affecting the technology and economy of companies, even if they are not directly related to the EU.
