Росатом запустил новое производство стали в Санкт-Петербурге

Thanks to the new equipment, the production of electroslag remelting steels will increase to 25,000 tons of ingots

A new electroslag remelting production complex has been launched at the "AEM-spetsstal" metallurgical plant in St. Petersburg, allowing to increase the production of the highest quality steel group.

The new furnace for the production of special steels was built a year ago, and planned work begins immediately, said Andrey Nikipelev, Deputy Director General for Mechanical Engineering and Rosatom.

Thanks to the new equipment, the annual production of electroslag remelting steels will increase to 25 thousand tons of ingots, which is 3.5 times more than the capabilities of the metallurgical plant in the manufacture of steels by this method.

The new complex will optimize the consumption of raw materials and electricity, reduce the duration of the production cycle and create additional jobs at the enterprise.
