Опытная заливка сверхпрочного сплава «Стеллит 6» освоена KMZ

New technology will allow creating wear-resistant parts with virtually unlimited service life

At the "Zimitsy" production site of the KMZ foundry, SKB-3 specialists successfully conducted a trial melting and casting of the unique "Stellite 6" alloy. This material, known for its exceptional wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance, opens up new possibilities for use in critical components of industrial equipment.

Stellite 6 is a cobalt-chromium alloy with the addition of tungsten and carbon, which is traditionally used to strengthen critical parts. However, unlike standard surfacing methods, which are not suitable for elements with a small internal diameter, SKB-3 technologists applied casting into a hot mold. The mold was made of a liquid glass mixture capable of withstanding a calcination temperature of up to 850°C, which ensured high casting quality.

Mastering this technology will allow KMZ to expand its product range, offering customers parts with increased service life. In the future, the alloy can be used in the energy, oil and gas industry, and heavy engineering, where maximum resistance to extreme loads is required.
