The project of anew assault tank patented by engineers of the Yuri Gagarin Saratov State Technical University will be able to operate effectively in urban environments with dense buildings and multi-vector threats. This conclusion was reached by the Western publication Army Recognition.
It was proposed to arm the vehicle with a 152 mm short-barreled howitzer, rocket infantry flamethrowers, a combat module with a 30-mm automatic cannon, and reconnaissance quadcopters.
The howitzer will allow the tank to increase the gun's elevation angle to 60 degrees, which will allow the crew to fire from closed firing positions. A 152 mm high-explosive fragmentation projectile is 2.5-3 times more effective than a 125 mm ammunition.
The vehicle received a bulldozer blade for destroying fortifications. The armored vehicle's hull is equipped with dynamic protection (DZ), which further enhances the protection of the frontal projection. DZ modules will also be installed on the turret and hull of the tank.
