The T-14 "Armata" tank has unique capabilities due to its effective dynamic protection system. It allows solving the tasks of defeating the enemy, noted military expert Konstantin Sivkov.
However, as of 2025, the "Armata" has not appeared in the troops as a replacement for the previous generation of combat vehicles T-72, T-80, and T-90. The publication "Technosphere Russia" suggested that in the current environment, re-equipping the army with a new tank model is, at a minimum, impractical.
According to the authors, in the current environment of increasing the production of tanks of the past generation, the small-scale production of the T-14 will only add problems to the military and the manufacturers themselves.
How many T-14s were produced is officially unknown. But the publication suggested that there areno more than 50 units, as well as several heavy BMPT T-15s based on them and a single number of T-16 repair and evacuation vehicles on the same platform.
Earlier,www1.ru reported thatthe flagship of the Navy, the cruiser "Admiral Kuznetsov," may be scrapped.
