The Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin, was presented with a modernized regional aircraft Il-114-300 at the Innoprom exhibition. The aircraft will replace outdated Soviet-made aircraft and become a reliable support for domestic aviation.
The Il-114-300 was developed specifically for operation on regional routes. The aircraft has been adapted to harsh climatic conditions, and can operate on unpaved, shortened, and even partially washed-out runways, which is important for remote areas of the Far East, the Urals, and Siberia.
According to aviation industry expert Maxim Pyadushkin, the Il-114-300 will not only replace the An-24, but also expand the network of regional routes due to its versatility of operation.
As part of a comprehensive program for the development of the Russian aviation industry, it is planned to produce more than a thousand aircraft, including 51 Il-114-300s, 139 Baikal aircraft, and 105 TVRS-44 Ladoga aircraft.
Earlier www1.ru reported that thermoplastic materials will appear in the PD-14, PD-8, and PD-35 engines.
