Servicemen of the Central Military District (CMD) practiced practical actions to detect, track and destroy reconnaissance drones and strike drones of a mock enemy. The exercises took place at the "Roshchinsky" training ground in the Samara region. This was reported by the press service of the Central Military District.
The soldiers fired at moving targets simulating drone attacks from 12-gauge smoothbore guns and Saiga shotguns. Targets were launched for them using special throwing devices, bringing the shooting conditions closer to a real environment.
Fire training instructor Sergei Palin stated that drones have now become one of the main means of warfare. However, servicemen are learning to destroy drones with standard weapons.
Particular attention was paid to individual and group training, firing at moving and suddenly appearing targets from standard small arms – AK-74, AK-12 assault rifles and Pecheneg machine guns.
