The crew of the special armored train "Yenisei", created by specialists of the railway troops of the Central Military District (CMD), are improving combat training. The exercises include practicing the interaction of crews that are part of a unique combat unit, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The military personnel pay attention to ensuring security, including reconnaissance using UAVs, the work of electronic warfare crews and the cover group. After examining the railway tracks for explosive objects, the repairmen begin repairs.
The Yenisei crew regularly practices using the entire arsenal of the armored train's weapons: from anti-aircraft guns and Utes machine guns to the 30-mm automatic cannon of the BMP-2.
All-round defense of the train is provided by crews of 80-mm mortars and AGS-17 automatic grenade launchers.
The purpose of the Yenisei armored train is engineering reconnaissance, delivery of materials and restoration of tracks. It can also escort passenger trains and special cargo for the needs of the military.
