Russia needs more icebreakers for navigation along the Northern Sea Route

Russian shipbuilders face a number of important tasks, including the development of a merchant fleet, the development of the production of gas carrier tankers, and the creation of facilities for the construction of large-capacity ships. This was stated by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin during his speech at the Innoprom exhibition in Yekaterinburg.

A separate large work is related to increasing the grouping of nuclear icebreakers necessary for year-round navigation along the Northern Sea Route.

Mishustin drew attention to the importance of establishing cooperation between enterprises. According to him, more than 30 Russian factories and shipyards are now involved in the manufacture of about 100 types of critical ship equipment.
