The "Ruselprom-LEZ" plant has produced a propulsion electric motor GED 10000-3-165 OM5 for installation on the nuclear icebreaker "Chukotka" of Project 22220, which is being built at the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS).
The engine characteristics meet the declared ones. RS specialists issued a corresponding certificate for the ship equipment.
In April, RS inspected the steam drive turbine of the main turbogenerator (GTG) of the starboard side for the steam turbine unit (PTU-72). It was assembled at the "Kirov-Energomash" plant.
The nuclear icebreaker "Chukotka" of Project 22220 was laid down at the Baltic Shipyard in 2020. For the past two months, the vessel has been under construction afloat, and energy equipment is being installed on it.
