A promising laser system for destroying drones "Posokh" should be on stationary power supply, because the high energy consumption of the installation complicates its mobile use. This was stated by military analyst, editor-in-chief of the magazine "National Defense" Igor Korotchenko.
According to him, such an installation, if it is mobile, can work for a certain number of minutes, maybe an hour or two, but no more.
Even if it has its own electric generator, this is a number of significant limitations. It must be on stationary power supply. Let's say, a variant of guarding some stationary objects.
Korotchenko recalled that the developers announced the possibility of hitting drones at a range of about one and a half kilometers.
Any laser weapons have a number of limitations. The main limitation is the state of the atmosphere, that is, in conditions of fog, rain, hail or snow, the laser complex becomes useless.
