A large-scale project to build the "Arctic Star" student campus, which will become a world-class scientific and educational center, has begun in Arkhangelsk. The complex will occupy more than 125,000 square meters and will include educational buildings, laboratories, hotels and modern public spaces.
The main feature of the campus will be its technological infrastructure. The multifunctional complex will house laboratories for applied research, equipped with modern equipment.
The buildings, ranging from 2 to 17 floors, house scientific and educational units, including classrooms, a laboratory complex, and other facilities for scientific and applied research. They are designed for 287 student places and 920 places for researchers.
In addition to educational and research areas, the campus will have a conference center for 900 people, equipped with teleconferencing and simultaneous interpretation systems, as well as a sports and recreation complex with innovative exercise equipment. Two hotel buildings will be able to accommodate up to 4,300 people and will be equipped with smart control systems.
The project was developed by the Mirproekt Urban Planning Institute, which specializes in creating energy-efficient buildings. The campus will become part of the national project "Youth and Children" and will contribute to the development of the Arctic region.
