A large-scale modernization of the rolling stock has begun on the Yaroslavl line of the Moscow Railway. Today, the first Ivolga 4.0 electric train, developed using domestic technologies, was put into operation. Key improvements concern passenger comfort: widened doorways (width - 1.6 m), an increased number of doors in the cars, and optimized passages speed up boarding and disembarking.
Technical innovations will increase the route speed and capacity of trains by 20%. By 2030, it is planned to replace 92 units of rolling stock, which will completely renew the fleet.
The project has become a driver for Russian industry: Ivolga 4.0 consists of 97% of components from 600 enterprises in the country, including Ural Locomotives (manufacturer) and the Research Institute of Car Building (development of control systems).
