В Telegram появится функция, которая поможет бороться с распространением недостоверной информации

The company is actively working to improve the reliability of content in its messenger

Telegram has launched a new feature aimed at fact-checking. Thanks to it, special labels will be added to posts in channels containing dubious information.

It works as follows: in one of the posts published in the We TON channel, it was written that Telegram was allegedly leaving Russia. Under it, a banner appeared with the text: "This information is not true – Pavel Durov did not make such statements."

The messenger administration plans to cooperate with agencies involved in fact-checking, according to insiders. However, there have been no official announcements on this matter yet.

In addition, the messenger has introduced new restrictions. Links in dialogues with unfamiliar users have become non-clickable. The change was noticed in the Telegram version for macOS. The restrictions apply only to those who started the conversation. Links sent in response remain active. To make links clickable, the user needs to add the interlocutor to their contacts.
