Telegram released its first update in 2025, including several new features such as collectible gifts, improved message search, and a QR code scanner.
One of the significant innovations is collectible gifts, which can now be transferred to other users. These gifts can not only be exchanged but also put up for auction on NFT platforms.
The update includes the addition of reactions to service messages about events, such as sending gifts, joining a group, or starting a video chat.
The message search functionality has also been improved: filters have been added to refine search results by chat, group, or channel. This will make message searching faster and more convenient.
Telegram has also introduced third-party verification, which will help users distinguish genuine sources of information. Now, services that have passed Telegram's verification can assign badges to verified accounts and chats, providing additional protection against fraud and the spread of false information.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Telegram had provided Roskomnadzor with the ability to verify the channels of Russian bloggers.
