Severstal has launched a pile pipe production line (can be used as the main load-bearing element, embedded in the ground in various ways) in the pipe-rolling shop of the Cherepovets Steel Mill (CherMK) in the Vologda region. This was reported in the company's press service.
The shop has a line for volumetric heat treatment of products, and the existing pipe-electric welding unit has also been modernized. As a result, the performance characteristics of pile pipes have improved.
Such rolled metal products are in demand in the construction sector, in the gas and oil industry sector.
The cost of building the pile pipe production line amounted to 1 billion rubles. It can produce up to 50 thousand tons of rolled metal per year.
