The requirements for localization of cars in Russia may include the use of domestic paint for the body. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov.
Alikhanov noted that imported paints are often used in the Russian automotive industry now. In the future, automakers will be able to increase localization points if they use more Russian polymer materials. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is actively cooperating with chemical companies. The main thing, the head of the ministry emphasized, is to ensure high quality paint.

From March 1, 2026, a law will come into force in Russia requiring taxi fleets to use cars with a certain degree of localization.
