An agreement was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on the creation of an innovative industrial cluster on the territory of the INTTC "Nevskaya Delta." The project, initiated by St. Petersburg and St. Petersburg State University, involves the construction of a technology transfer center and an innovative complex with an area of over 33,000 m².
This is a large project that will unite science, education, and production in one place. It will be possible to receive the first residents as early as the end of this year. Tax benefits and preferences are provided for them. Thanks to this, thousands of new jobs will appear and St. Petersburg will contribute to the technological future of the country.
The task of the project is to create conditions for the most effective use of the resources of students, teachers, scientists, graduates, and partners of St. Petersburg State University for the development of St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region, the Northwestern Federal District, the entire education and science system through the formation of a unique university complex that will be integrated into the urban environment.
Key areas of the cluster's activities will include ecology, life safety, agrobiotechnology, the development of Arctic technologies, autonomous energy sources, and digital platforms for modeling complex systems.
The project of the innovative scientific and technological center "Nevskaya Delta" is strategic and significant not only for the city, but also for the country. By signing an agreement between St. Petersburg and the Nevskaya Delta Foundation, we confirm that together we are creating an important element of the urban innovation ecosystem, which will accelerate the development of small and medium-sized high-tech companies in cooperation with scientific and educational organizations and industrial enterprises in the region.
The infrastructure of the "Nevskaya Delta" will accelerate the commercialization of developments and attract investment in high-tech startups.
