Russian military personnel carried out a scheduled replacement of the gun barrel on their combat vehicles in operation. In particular, the soldiers showed in detail how this happened on one of the T-72B3s.
First, they showed the inside of the barrel — how much the resource had been used up due to intensive operation. The soldiers also dismantled the thermal protection jacket, after which it remained to remove the powder gas ejector.
On modern combat vehicles, it is not necessary to dismantle the turret itself; the tube is simply unscrewed. This is done with the help of a repair vehicle crane and a sledgehammer. Then, the new barrel, still completely smooth, is installed in the reverse order.
T-72B3M is a modernized version of the T-72B3 tank, which received a rear-view television camera and a new sighting system with a digital display.
