Engineers from the Irkutsk Plant of Tracked Vehicles have established their own production of transmissions for the MT-LB "Motolyga" military tracked transporter, which was previously produced only at a factory in Kharkov during the USSR.
In Soviet years, the main transmission for all-terrain vehicles was produced at the Kharkov plant. It worked for decades — reliable, powerful, tested in the most severe conditions. But with the collapse of the USSR, this production was lost.
For a long time, there was no analogue in Russia. But a lot of MT-LB vehicles are used, including in the civilian sector, where there is simply no alternative.
As a result, today almost all components — from the body to the gears — are produced in Russia. Almost 100% are Russian components, the only exception being the oil filter.
Earlier www1.ru reported that "Kalashnikov" modernized the PPK-20 submachine gun: it will set the bar for 20 years ahead.
