Новый метод герметизации лёгочной ткани представили специалисты Сеченовского университета

The development will reduce the risk of postoperative complications

A unique method that significantly improves the sealing of lung tissue and reduces the likelihood of postoperative air leaks was presented by scientists from Sechenov University. Its essence lies in the combined use of biological glue and a membrane created on the basis of personalized collagen. The plate, developed by university scientists, demonstrates high efficiency in the sealing process.

Preliminary results of experiments show that this combination significantly increases the reliability of lung sealing and minimizes the risk of air leaks after surgery. This method has no analogues in the world and offers patients with air leaks from the lungs a new, more reliable treatment option.

Thanks to the combined use of sealant and collagen plate, we will be able to offer patients with air leaks from the lungs a new, more reliable treatment option.

After the completion of preclinical studies, it is planned to introduce this technique into clinical practice, which will open new horizons in the treatment of patients with pulmonary diseases.
