Shipbuilders of the Baltic Shipyard will check all systems and equipment of the vessel of project 22220

The lead nuclear icebreaker "Arktika" of project 22220 arrived at the Baltic Shipyard for scheduled inter-navigation repairs. This was reported by the press service of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC).

The Baltic workers will prepare the vessel for docking, check all systems and equipment that ensure the safety of the nuclear power plant. Then the "Arktika" will be towed and brought into the Veleshchinsky dock at the Kronstadt Marine Plant. There, the shipbuilders will perform a diagnosis of the underwater part of the hull and restore the anti-corrosion coating.

After all the work, the icebreaker will undergo inspection. The procedure is mandatory and is carried out every 5 years, which meets the requirements of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

"Arktika" is the first vessel of project 22220. It was built at the Baltic Shipyard and handed over to the customer in the fall of 2020.
