AvtoVAZ explained how to extend the life of the engine and transmission of Lada cars.
The first rule is to strictly follow the factory regulations for maintenance:
- Regular replacement of oils and filters.
- Checking fluid levels.
- Using recommended consumables.
- Warming up the engine before starting trips.
The second rule is to comply with the break-in norms for new cars. In the first 2 thousand kilometers, AvtoVAZ recommends sticking to a smooth driving style. Car owners should avoid sudden starts with wheelspin, not accelerate faster than 110 km/h and not tow trailers or other cars.
The third rule is that if signs of unit failure appear, it is necessary to contact a car service in a timely manner. Usually, this is signaled by a special indicator on the dashboard, for example, an oil pressure light or a "Check Engine" indicator.
AvtoVAZ recalled that for a long life of the gearbox, it is important to operate it correctly. When using a manual gearbox, the clutch must be fully depressed and without excessive effort, and the gears must be fully engaged, without intermediate positions.
