The development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) may be given special attention in the updated development strategy of the Russian Navy until 2050. This point of view was presented by military expert Vasily Dandykin.
According to him, the FSB coast guard ships may also receive more powerful weapons. Dandykin suggested that the strategy will focus on the development of surface, air, and underwater unmanned systems. The expert recalled that regiments of unmanned systems are already being created within the Navy.
Their use and the reflection of enemy drones will also be taken into account. Various ships, including aircraft carriers, can become drone carriers.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Marine Board of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev, stated that President Vladimir Putin had approved the Navy development strategy until 2050. The decision to prepare the strategy was made in July 2024.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the new Rodnik 3D radar was created for the military, but it is unable to detect small drones.
