MC-21 Manufacturer to Receive Over 65 Billion Rubles for Re-equipment: Aiming for Production of 36 Aircraft per Year

Reconstruction of Production Facilities Begins at Irkutsk Aviation Plant

More than 65 billion rubles will be allocated for the technical re-equipment of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. The project, implemented by PJSC "Yakovlev", is related to the development of the production of MC-21 aircraft, according to the government of the Irkutsk region.

The main goal of the aircraft plant is to reach an annual production of 36 aircraft. This includes the reconstruction and construction of production facilities, the recruitment of qualified personnel, and the introduction of high-tech equipment.

The project, with a completion date of 2030, was supported by the investment council under the governor of the Irkutsk region.

In 2025, nine MC-21-310s (the basic version of the aircraft) should be delivered to airlines, followed by 31 aircraft in 2026, with further production increases.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the timeline for equipping Be-200 aircraft with Russian PD-8 engines has been announced.
