The multi-purpose subsonic tactical missile LMUR ("Product 305") of the air-to-ground system, which received the X-39 index, has been modernized for the Russian military. The munition is designed to destroy weapons depots, protected fortifications and command posts.
The missile is equipped with an increased warhead. The previous launch mass of the X-39 was 105 kg, and the current one is unknown. The missile is equipped with a multispectral optoelectronic homing head with infrared sighting channels, an autopilot and a two-way communication system with the carrier.
The missile is capable of operating in two modes. The first provides for the independent flight of the X-39, after which the operator finds the target and takes it for escort. In the second, the search and capture of the target is carried out even before it is dropped from the carrier, and after separation, the missile operates on the "fire and forget" principle.
The maximum launch range is 14.5 km. The missile was built in a cylindrical body with a diameter of 200 mm and a length of less than 2 m. The launch weight is 105 kg, of which 25 kg falls on the high-explosive fragmentation warhead. The solid-propellant rocket engine will allow the missile to accelerate to 230 m/s. The X-39 carriers are the Mi-28NM "Night Superhunter" and Ka-52 "Alligator" helicopters.
